Tanja Unguran is a partner at Mihaj, Ilić & Milanović, and a multidisciplinary expert specialising in Corporate, Tax and Energy.
Tanja has 20 years of experience and her legal expertise focuses on corporate and tax law. She also has extensive experience in energy law.
She has a wide-ranging corporate and contractual practice, covering transactional and advisory matters. She regularly advises on domestic and cross-border M&A work, acting for institutions, management teams and corporates.
As an experienced transactional lawyer, Tanja regularly liaises with numerous international law firms and has worked as part of international legal teams handling complex M&A transactions.
Over the course of her career, Tanja has advised leading domestic and international clients in a wide range of industries, including the manufacturing, commerce, real estate, logistics/ distribution, automotive and textile sectors.
Tanja has developed significant expertise in the area of energy and mining and, in particular, in renewable energy projects. Tanja’s expertise in energy matters goes beyond the Serbian energy sector,
having advised clients in projects across the Balkans, including Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and further afield in Georgia, and Tanzania, including legal support at the project development stage and in M&A transactions arising from these projects.
She is recognised and valued for her expertise in tax law. She has advised clients on tax matters in all industries, including corporate income tax, personal income tax, VAT, and property tax.
Before joining Mihaj, Ilić & Milanović, Tanja worked as a partner at one of the leading regional law firms in Serbia, where she headed up the Corporate and Tax and Energy department.
Tanja holds an LL.B. from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law and an LL.M in International Business Law from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
She is a member of the Bar Association of Serbia and the International Fiscal Association. She is a national reporter for Serbia’s VAT system for the IBFD’s International VAT Monitor.
